The 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500HD runs on Diesel fuel and is powered by Duramax Diesel. You can get more information about this vehicle online at the Chevrolet website.
light truck diesels? 6.2, 6.5 nat aspirated, 6.5 turbo, and duramax 6.6 also another duramax, i think 7.8? used in medium duty trucks, they had a diesel used in cars in the late 70's early 80's that i believe was some sort of converted 350. that didn't go over very well, maybe someone else know more
The top makes for Diesel trucks are Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet. The best selling Diesel seems to be the Ford F Series. The Duramax engine seems to get very good reviews. The Dodge seems to have more problems with it's engine.
Their injection pump is set too rich, and lets more diesel into the engine than the engine can burn. The partially/badly burned diesel is what comes out as black smoke.
It all depends on how well it has been taken care of. I have seen them with more than 500,000 miles on them. Mine has 220,000 and is still running great.I'll give the 6.6L LML Duramax V8 a life span of 9 to 11 years with 200,000 to 275,000 miles.
Not unless someone installed an aftermarket one.

Diesel
diesel is usually more expensive but diesel cars usually have more mpg than petrol cars
diesel is now a lot more expensive because there are more and more diesel cars so they can now make even more money just by raising the cost of the diesel
