how to get my spare 1999 astra car key working
Normally when you buy a car, you get a spare set of keys. It really depends on which country you live in and how much different companies charge. So i would have a look around the different key making companies first. :)
I went to a dealer and he told me it was 85.00 because it has a chip in it. He made me a valet key that would unlock the car but not start it. It was only 8.00
If they ain't stolen, they usually do..
For an older car, a locksmith can make a copy of the existing car key to keep as a spare in case you lose your key. If you lose your key and don't have a spare, the locksmith may have to dismantle your lock in order to make a replacement key. For a 'smart key' or an electronic fob, the only option for obtaining a replacement may be going to the dealer to get one.
Try your spare key. Usually the key will wear out and make it so you cant start the car.
