the most common cause is the battery is not sufficiently charged (has been drained by something that stayed on in the vehicle or the car has just sat for too long). Jumper cables or a jumper box usually helps this, if the battery hasnt gone bad.
another culprit is dirty or corroded connections between the battery and starter.
and it can also be the starter itself has went bad if there is 12-14 volts from the battery and good conductivity all the way to the starter.
and the least common (and most expensive): the engine could be locked up. this is fairly easy to check for though as most engines can be turned either by hand or a socket on the pulley at the bottom of the serpentine or v-belts to see if it is seized up. But i would start with the aforementioned electrical things as those are alot more common
Check your battery.
stater or silanoid
h/lamp & tns relay clicking when car is off & car will not start
A loud fast clicking noise is usually indicative of a low battery or a loose cable.
If the Chrysler is only making a clicking noise and will not start, check the starter. Also check the alternator, and the battery. The starter solenoid is more than likely the reason the car is clicking and not starting.
If you have checked all possible solutions for example the battery being dead, the starter going out, any possible loose connections ex: battery cable wires, The Solenoid and your still having the same issues then your ignition switch would be my next guess.
You either have a corroded or loose battery cable connection at the battery, a defective or drained battery, defective starter relay or starter.

I have the same car with the same clicking noise right after you start the engine. The noise stops shortly after starting. There was a recall from Chrysler for this problem. Contact your local dealer regarding this matter.
It really depends on the cause of the noise. Every Inline-4 Cylinder car I have ever seen makes some kind of clicking type noise when they are started cold, I'm pretty sure it's noise from the mechanical valve lifters. If it's really concerning to you, take the car to a qualified mechanic.
With this symptom, if you tried to jump start the car it would start. The answer was a corroded Black/Cable going to the Negative terminal of the Battery.
