When were super cars invented?

What we call today a "supercar" was invented by Ferruchio Lamborghini, the first one was the Lamborghini Miura. It was something like a spaceship for it's time (late sixties). But super fast cars with massive engines with and without superchargers and turbos have been around since the twenties and thirties, Duesenbergs, Cords, Hispano Suiza, Bugatti, etc.
