i know that the bus driver can take your license plate down and report you ABSOLUTELY!!! Actually, In Iowa Code 321.372 gives the Bus driver the right to fill out a violation report and turned in to the Police within 72 hours. The Police will investigate within 7 days. If the Bus drivers report is correct.. License Number, Date, Time, place, reported violation, You are toast. A ticket shall be issued, Code 321.372A If the driver is the owner you get the ticket. If the owner claims he doesn't KNOW who was using his car at that time..... The owner STILL gets the ticket. $182.00 Fine. From the rear you cannot "overtake" the school bus and pass while the AMBERS are activated or its also a violation. From the front you are required to slow to 20 MPH and be prepared to stop when the Ambers are activated. IF the arm comes out you must stop NO CLOSER than 15 feet from the Bus.
