If an Automatic trans and car sounds like it is always in '1st' gear (engine rpm very high, has a lot of torque when you press or release the gas pedal) the shift cable has the trans in 1st or low gear, or there is a problem within the transmission preventing it from shifting (low fluid level, bad solenoid on or in the trans, bad shifter assembly)
