What would cause my car to sound like it wants to start but it just doesn't almost like its not getting gas?

Check your battery cables. Sometimes they get corroded. You can clean them with pepsi, or coke, and a toothbrush. Seriously- the acid in the soda breaks down the corrosion. Might also want to have your starter checked. It might be going out. In that case it will stop making any noise and all you will here is a click when you turn it over. Bells and whistles (stereo and wipers and such) will work but it just won't turn over.
