What to wear for car wash job?

Lightweight clothes. For pants, I'd suggest you go to a military surplus store and get a set of BDU pants - you want the temperate "summer weight" ones, not the heavier "intermediate ones". You'll be able to tell the difference by the square weave pattern in the temperate BDU pants. They should be available in a number of patterns and colors - everything from the M81 woodland and six color "chocolate chip" and three color Desert Combat Uniform patterns which were used by the military to Mossy Oak and Realtree print, to solid colors. These dry out easily.

For shoes, I'd recommend something intended for use in a wet environment, but with enough of a sole for a job where you'd be standing for long periods of time.

T-shirt.. something lightweight, which will dry out easily.

You should wear a set of safety glasses, especially if you're dealing with abrasive detergents and high pressure water and/or steam.

Of course, a full on rain suit is also an option, but a rather uncomfortable one on a particularly hot day - trust me on this one, as I've just spent all day under the sun steam cleaning a Caterpillar front end loader with such a rainsuit on.

And what type of car wash might also play a role. If you've ever watched the TV show 1000 Ways To Die, you may recall a story about some strippers who held a car wash for a fraudulent charity they made up, and they wore swimsuits to entice men to pay them more. If that's your aim, then that might be what you wear. But if you're having a car wash for, say, a church group, you'd probably prefer to wear something a bit more modest than a string bikini.
