The "automatic gearbox" Volkswagen used to put in Beetles is an "autostick" transmission. It has a three-speed manual transmission connected to a vacuum-operated clutch and a torque converter. There's no clutch pedal but you still have to shift it.

Fluid should be CVT not ATF. Nissan vehciles do not use ATF because of its thickness. It may damage your gearbox.

Dexron-III is what's used in almost all vehicles (except some older fords and chryslers), but you can check the owners' manual to be sure (or call the nearest Nissan dealership).
