rubber can be used to absorb impact made on an item protecting an egg, if you are making a car that contains an egg that cannot be broke try making rubber bumpers all the way around the car, that way the impact will be taken around the outside instead of into the car (into the egg)
other materials for protection inlcude packing peanuts, styrofoam, bubble wrap, and cotton balls.
hope that helps :)
for starters and egg ..
Assuming that you are going to drop the egg from various heights, this can be accomplished by creating a larger shell around the egg to absorb the impact. Try to create as large of a cocoon as possible for the egg as your main problem is to stop the egg from directly taking the impact.
If I am trying to build a soundproof room, I would use foam and egg cartons for materials.
To make an egg survive a 3-foot fall in a toy car, you can cushion it with materials like cotton balls, bubble wrap, or foam padding. Place the egg securely in the center of the toy car surrounded by the cushioning material to absorb the impact of the fall. Additionally, ensure that the toy car has a smooth landing surface to prevent the egg from breaking upon impact.
, If you are talking about the project where you have to drop an egg out of some structure and they have to be safe. If you are then I have experience! This is a very simple and easy to make idea: 1) Take a shoebox, the bigger the better (Not too flat) 2) Take alot of newspaper and shred it to strips 3) Take some cotton wool or other soft material 4) THROW THEM ALL INTO THE SHOEBOX! 5) Secure the egg in the middle of the shoebox, ensure that there is plenty of shredded newspaper in it to cover it. The soft material would absorb the impact (which should be minimal to what is inside the box due to the structure of the box. Hope I Helped

A few things you could consider are cushions, "crumple zones" (like in cars, these are portions of the carrier that are designed to absorb some of the impact by breaking themselves instead of transferring the force to the cargo), or (if you're feeling fancy) retrorockets.
