Garrett Morgan was born to a family with the surname Morgan. His father, Sidney Morgan, was a formerly enslaved person who became a farmer, and his mother, Elizabeth Morgan, was a free woman of color. Garrett Morgan himself did not have a widely known family name beyond his own, but he is often associated with his contributions to invention and innovation, particularly in the fields of safety and traffic management.
Garrett A. Morgan only received a formal education up to the sixth grade. He was primarily self-taught and gained knowledge and skills through his own experiences and pursuits.
Oh honey, Garrett A. Morgan was a trailblazer in his own right. He didn't just win any awards, he was the real deal. In 1914, he received a patent for inventing the three-position traffic signal, which revolutionized road safety. So yeah, he definitely earned his stripes in the innovation game.
benno's father had his own tailor shop at the front of the building.
Well it all depends on what kind of shop you have if you wanted a clothes shop for instence you would have something like "Clothes 4 u" or you can use your own name like "emily kate" it all depends on what kind of taste you have and what kind of taste the shop has :-)
Garrett Augustus Morgan, Sr. was an African American, inventor who originated a respiratory protective hood (similar to the modern gas masks), credited with being the inventor of a type of traffic signal, and invented a hair-straightening preparation. He is renowned for a heroic rescue in which he used his hood to save workers trapped in a tunnel system filled with fumes. He is credited as the first African-American in Cleveland to own an automobile.
Abraham Lincoln once owned a store that was also a drinking establishment.

1. Born in Paris, Kentucky, on March 4, 1877, Garrett Morgan was the seventh of 11 children. His mother, Elizabeth (Reed) Morgan, was of Indian and African descent, and the daughter of a Baptist minister. It is uncertain whether Morgan's father was Confederate Colonel John Hunt Morgan or Sydney Morgan, a former slave freed in 1863. 2.When Morgan was in his mid teens, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, to look for work, and found it as a handyman to a wealthy landowner. Although he only completed an elementary school education, Morgan was able to pay for more lessons from a private tutor. But jobs at several sewing-machine factories were to soon capture his imagination and determine his future. Learning the inner workings of the machines and how to fix them, Morgan obtained a patent for an improved sewing machine and opened his own repair business. 3.Morgan's business was a success, and it enabled him to marry a Bavarian woman named Mary Anne Hassek, and establish himself in Cleveland. (He and his wife would have three sons during their marriage.)
