The standard towing capacity is about 5000 lbs.
The standard Chevrolet blazer towing capacity is 1500 pounds. Some Chevrolet Blazers from the 1980s had a towing capacity of 2500 pounds.

Took me a long time to figure this one out too. "Standard" towing capacity is the maximum weight that can be towed with the factory supplied hitch. "Maximum" towing capacity is the absolute maximum weight that the vehicle can tow with an after market hitch made for heavy hauling, such as a 5th wheel.
The standard towing capacity on a 2003 S-10 truck is 1600 pounds. The maximum towing capacity is 5900 pounds and it is not recommended that you tow anything over that maximum capacity.
