There is no industry standard for hydraulic/transmission oil. John Deere states that any 3rd party oil can very possibly damage the Deere Machine. Therefore, there is no one substitute that can reliably be used in both John Deere J20C and Cat applications.

10W30 with Turf Guard, which is an additive for high RPM motors. This is only available through a John Deere Dealership, but in a pinch any good quailty 10W30 motor oil will work.
