Oil clearence is .0008--.0015 and # 2 and 4 mains are .0011--.0023
the clearance is measured at the top of the bearing with the help of a feeler gauge
The main bearing and rod bearinging clearance is usually in the manual. However, if worse comes to worse, you can find it on your rods in the truck.
To measure the main bearing clearance on a four-stroke marine diesel engine, first, ensure the engine is cool and properly secured. Remove the oil pan and main bearing caps, then clean the bearing surfaces. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between the crankshaft and the bearing shell; insert the gauge at multiple points around the bearing to account for any uneven wear. Record the measurements to assess if they are within the manufacturer's specified tolerances for proper engine operation.
Perhaps excess bearing clearance?
.0010" to .0020" oil clearance
A main bearing bore refers to the cylindrical opening in an engine block where the main bearings are housed. These bearings support the crankshaft and allow it to rotate smoothly, reducing friction and wear. The bore's size and precision are critical for engine performance, as they affect the alignment and clearance of the crankshaft. Proper maintenance and machining of the main bearing bore are essential for the longevity and efficiency of the engine.
Need to know the engine size.
.0010 - .0022 in or .025 - .055 mm max limit is .0031 in or .08 mm
1967, 2 bolt main bearing, small crank wrong way
The arrows point to the front of the engine.
"How to Rebuild the Big Block Chevy V8 Engine" Book has that info
I think a Chevy V8 will swap, but with HEAVY modification. The main problem will be the oil pan clearance from the frame.
