Maximum Towing Capacity: 10,000 lbs when equipped with the 7.4L 454 and 4.10 gears. What is the towing capacity with the 5.7 liter
Since the Owner's Manual does not give the towing capacity, I contacted a local dealer and was told the towing capacity for the 1994 Silverado Z71 was 7200 pounds. This information was not taken out of a manual, but came from one of the technitions who stated he owned a Silverado. I have not been able to verify this as of yet.
4 and a half ton
Up to 12,000 lbs when properly equipped/options.
A 350 engine is limited to 5000 pounds and a 454 engine is limited to 7100 pounds.,
i have a 96 suburban with the same engine, owners manual says 7500 lbs (4l80 trans)
Per GM this vehicle tow rate is 9,500 lbs.
The specifications for a 1987 Chevy Suburban 4 x 4 with the 454 big block include a 5.7 liter engine and a towing capacity of up to 9,500 lbs. The maximum fuel tank capacity is 25 gallons and it has a 4-speed manual transmission.
That depends on the transmission and rear end gear ratios. The manufacturer should have specified a towing capacity for the vehicle - check your owner's manual.
A C10 or a K20, 8000 lbs. A K10 is 6500 lbs. A C20 is 10,000 lbs and C30 is 12,000 lbs. This is from a 1979 Burb owners manual.
