4 Ton
It is a 4 ton unit.
That is a 4 ton unit. Air conditioning is measured in BTU's of refrigerant. 12,000 btu's per ton. The 49 in the model number indicates 49,000 btu's of refrigerant. When you devide 49 by 12 you get a fraction over 4 tons. But A/c systems are rounded off and not measured fractionally, so you get 4 tons.
4 ton
Hi: Basically you got a 4 ton system on your hands. It is a high efficiency job and therefore claims a thousand btuh more than the 48k required to make up a 4 ton. 12,000 btu = 1 ton soooooooo 4 times this = 4 tons plus 1000 extra btuh claim. P.S.,,, I'm a big user of Goodman Products for long time. Say 20 years or more & I would like you to know That company gives you a lot for your buck. Jimiwane
