OK first you have the 4 strokes which are intake, compression, power, and exhaust.

Intake is where the fuel and air are brought into the cylinder.

compression is when the cylinder moves up compressing the air and fuel are compressed.

power is where the spark plug ignites the fuel and air pushing the cylinder down.

and exhaust is when the spent gas and co2 are pushed out of the cylinder.
