The extraction of steam can either be controlled or uncontrolled.

In an uncontrolled extraction the pressure of the extracted steam will decrease with an increase in extraction flow from the

turbine.

In a controlled extraction the extraction pressure is kept constant as extraction flow is increased or decreased.

What is the centrifugal force on a turbine blade if a London bus is hanging from the blade?

A ball park figure for the weight of a double decker bus might be about 15,000 kilograms. But to calculate the centrifugal force on a turbine blade with this hanging from it would require the blade length and the rotational speed of the turbine.

Why free turbine rotate in opposite direction?

Some CT based generators have 2 gas turbines, axially in-line, with a double ended generator/alternator centered between them. The Pratt & Whitney model calls this a Twin-Pac. In this arrangement one Free Turbine requires a clockwise rotation, and the other Free Turbine requires a counter-clockwise rotation. Both may be coupled directly to the generator or via an over-running clutch for synchronous condenser operations.

Describe what is meant by randomized controlled double-blind trials which is used to test drugs?
