305 with no oil pressure?

Did you remove oil sending unit and install a oil pressure gauge in it's place and read it so you can rule out the gauge in the dash and sending unit ? If not, then do it. Then if you don't have oil pressure. Remove the oil pan and check the oil pump pick-up screen to see if it is stoped up, if it is replace oil pump and screen. If it's not then replace oil pump and screen anyway.

What is a sump screen I need to change an oil pump on 1993 suburban and I'm not sure what this is?

The oil pump pulls oil up from the bottom of the oil pan and pumps it through the passages in the engine to the bearings and hydraulic lifters (if any). The tube that goes from the bottom of the oil pump into the oil pan is covered with a screen to keep out any potential large "chunks" of anything that got into the engine. The screen is called a sump screen and can usually be cleaned and re-used when the pump is replaced, provided that the screen is still in good shape.

Where is VW oil screen?

Crawl under the car and look in the middle of the engine. The round piece of steel in the middle of the engine is the oil screen cover.Scary thought: At one time VW wanted to make sure you cleaned the screen at an oil change, so they removed the drain bolt. To get the oil out you had to remove the oil screen cover. Most dealers removed that abomination from the car and replaced it with one that had a drain bolt on it the second the car arrived from the factory.
