fuel air metering p1131 is code showing up
P1131 - Manufacturer control fuel air metering - Swirl Control
You must be talking about a CARBURETOR. They are called metering rods. They control how much fuel flows through the jets in the carburetor as you push the gas pedal. They can make a engine run lean or rich, by changing the air/fuel ratio.
i have a 2002 jaguar x type and they said it needs a air metering device where is that at on the car
45---------------Fuel Metering.
Only fuel. Somehow it is getting in there. Fuel metering needs to be looked over.
Diesels run on compressed fuel and air. An injector pump sprays fuel into the cylinder and mixes it with the air. When the piston rises to the top of the cylinder it compresses the fuel / air mixture and causes the mixture to ignite powering the engine. The speed of the engine is controled by the throttle plate which controls the amount of air entering the engine as well as the metering valve on the diesel pump which controls the amount of fuel that is sprayed into the cylinder.
Trouble code P1131 means: Lack Of HO2S11 Switches - Sensor Indicates Lean
No, it has a throttle body. The throttle unit resembles a carburetor except that there is no fuel bowl, float or metering jets. The fuel is sprayed directly into the throttle bore by an injector. It's actually fuel injection, except the fuel is injected in the module beneath the air cleaner as opposed to each individual cylinder.
A solenoid operated fuel metering rod(s).
it meters how much fuel is being injected into the turbocharger at max boost around 55psi (low boost) and if there is to much fuel it sets of a warning
The oxygen sensor measures the amount of or lack of oxygen in the burnt exhaust exiting the engine in the exhaust pipe. It will then send a voltage signal to the vehicle computer. The computer uses that signal to control the fuel metering coming into the engine to try and keep the air/fuel ratio at 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. This is for emissions and economy reasons.
