There isn't really a shelf life for 134-a. As long as you keep your canister in a dry, secure location so it doesn't corrode to the point where you can't open the valve, and as long as nothing happens that lets the refrigerant leak out, you're good to go. If your question is regarding refrigerant already in an air conditioning system, there is still no shelf life, but things like moisture, dirt and air in the system can degrade the overall operation of the system.
