When an O2 sensor is bad your car will not run efficiently. You will use more gas than you would normally use on a trip.
IF it goes bad it will stick and allow no coolant to pass through it, and the car will subsequently overheat. Just change it out. They are usually under $10
They shouldn't. If they do, it has probably to do with bad grounding or wrong setup of the generator. <><><>
When an oxygen sensor goes bad a car will burn gas at a higher than normal rate because it will not be producing as much power as before. The oxygen sensor checks the amount of exhaust.
