Gulf has ethanol free gas.
*Actually, that may not be entirely accurate, because here in Southwest PA our local Gulf has decided to put out those dreadful blue stickers that the gas contains 10% Ethanol. Also, keep in mind, Gulf stations are franchises with independent owners, so not all may be that way. When I asked the owner what the deal was with ethanol, he informed me that all grades have 10% ethanol in them and that ALL gas stations around here will be doing it as well. Turns out he was right, because soon after my Sunoco had that blue sticker at the pump, and then Exxon. The only place I found here in Southwestern PA that doesn't have that blue sticker is a Kwik Fill known as the Red Apple store at the intersection of routes 519 & 136 in Dunningsville/ Eight Four, PA area. Now does that mean they don't add ethanol? I don't know, all I do know for certain is they don't have the dreaded blue stickers, whether or not it's a state law to have the stickers out is what I need to find out in order to know for sure. If the blue sticker notice is optional, then there's a chance they're adding it, too.
I feel if they're adding 10% ethanol, our prices should reflect 10% cheaper! I also think we as consumers should have a choice if we want to buy the gas with the 10% ethanol! Let us choose, leave a pump or two at these stations that do not have ethanol, charge us more if you'd like, but ultimately make it about us choosing if we want to add that to our vehicles!
I have a van that is flex fuel. It has longer platinum spark plugs and it has plastic fittings instead of rubber, because for one, ethanol burns hotter and secondly, ethanol eats at the rubber fittings along your fuel lines, etc. It may only be 10%, but what happens to our vehicles that aren't flex fuel that have the rubber along the fuel lines and who have traditional spark plugs, what kind of damage and money is it going to end up being for us, the consumer over time with the 10% additive over and over? This is why there should be a pump at each station that allows us the choice to have it without it!
Ethanol lowers the octane value in your gasoline, and for high performance vehicles such as my main vehicle, which a 02 Nissan Maxima, they run like crap with the mixture, and causes my check engine light to come on and runs poorly until I change my gas, and that is even after I add an octane booster into my gas that is mixed.
I also want to know how legislature managed to sneak this buy us consumers without us having a chance to have a say. Was it done overnight or did they sugarcoat it with the benefits it would give us without making us aware of the long term damage, especially since majority of America doesn't own newer cars with the flex fuel capability.
Is there a way to get them to repeal this choice or to at least make it mandatory that one pump be reserved for us without the ethanol mix?

At this time all gas stations sell gas with ethanol in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New York. The last small independent stations that sold 100% pure gasoline stopped selling it about November 15, 2010. However some gas station are charging .10, .15 and even .25 cents more for gas that they say does not contain ethanol -----BUT IT DOES. THE NON ETHANOL THAT WAS IN THEIR TANKS RAN OUT WEEKS AGO AND THEY UP THE PRICE AND SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE IT. I BOUGHT A OFFICIAL TEST KIT AND IT SHOW THEIR GAS DOES HAVE ETHANOL IN IT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE CHARGING MORE AND SAYING IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ETHANOL. BE CAREFUL.
You can find gas stations that offer ethanol-free gasoline by checking online resources, such as websites that list ethanol-free gas stations in your area. Additionally, you can ask local gas stations directly if they carry ethanol-free gasoline. Look for fuel pumps with a specific label indicating "ethanol-free" or "pure gasoline."
