it means your automatic transmission will use all of its gears UP TO 3rd gear, so if your going down a hill, and you dont want to use your brakes all the time, (like going downhill on a mountain pass) you can use engine braking to slow the car down by putting the shifter in 3. you can go slower still by putting it in 2, or 1. you have to be off the gas pedal to do this, and the engine RPM will rise when you do it.

!f you mean d/dx (1 + x-2) = -2x-3 If you mean d/dx (1 + x)-2 = -2(1 + x)-3
D=Drive, R=reverse, N=Neutral, 3, 2, & 1, are the speeds, or gears,of the transmission. So if there is a problem it is with the transmission.
5 numbers: A, B, C, D, E.median is 2: A, B, 2, D, E. Since median is 2, then A or B can be 0 or 1. So we can have:0, 0, 2, D, E0, 1, 2, D, E1, 0, 2, D, E1, 1, 2, D, E So that D ≥ 3 or D ≤ ?MEAN: (A + B + 2 + D + E)/5 = 10A + B + 2 + D + E = 50A + B + D + E = 48So, you need to study all the possibilities for A, B, and D, in order to find E. For example,If A = 0, B = 0, and D = 3, then E = 45.If A = 1, B = 1,and D = 4, then E = 40....

Apply Pythagoras. d^2 = (-6--3)^2 + ( 0 - 1)^2 d^2 = ( -3)^2 + ( -1)^(2) d^2 = 9 + 1 d^2 = 10 d = sqrt(10) = 3.1622....
-d + 2 = 5(- 2 from both sides)-d = 3(x both sides by -1)d = -3
d/4 - 3/5 = -1/2 d/4 = -1/2 + 3/5 d/4 = 1/10 d = 4/10 d= 2/5

If left in D the gearbox will change automatically. If for some reason you use the gearbox manually, either 3 or 2 or 1 will illuminate to indicate which gear you have selected. Also as a reminder to return to the automatic facility as soon as practically possible.
If you mean a ; (-5,4) & b ; (3,-2) If you mean that they are the (x,y) coordinates, then please write them in brackets separated by a comma. If this is what you mean, then we use Pythagoras. d^2 = a^2 + b^2 Substituting d^2 = (-5-3)^2 + ( 4 - - 2)^2 d^2 = (-8)^2 + (6)^2 d^2 = 64 + 36 d^2 = 100 d = sqrt(100) = 10 is the distance between the two points.
