Because a 2004 Saab is a GM car, use GM-approved ATF. If I had a car that new, I'd go to a Chevy dealership for ATF.

Hyundai genuine ATF Sp III can work as well as the diamond ATF sp III. It is possible to substitute the two transmission fluids and still maintain good car performance.
The manual recommended ATF II, Mercon/Dexron. Since then a much improve ATF III has been added to the market. It's okay to use ATF III but never use less than ATF II. For the age of your car and possibly have over 75kmi. I would suggest also using ATF III high mileage fluid. Read the back of the bottle that would indicate if the fluid is compatible to your car engine.
That car uses ATF+4.
If the ATF dipstick reads full, the transmission is likely burned out.
