THERE IS A FUEL VALVE TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE ENGINE THAT SHOULD HAVE PRESSURE IF THE FUEL IS GETTING TO THE FRONT. THERE ARE RELAYS FOR THE FUEL PUMP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE HOOD BY THE WINDOW IN A BLACK PLASTIC BOX. CHECK THESE TWO FIRST . IF IT SPRAYS A LITTLE TRY SOME BERRYMAN B-12 PART # O116 IN THE GAS TANK (IT SAYS FOR OIL TOO BUT IT CLEANS TOO GOOD FOR OIL) IT IS THE BEST AND HAS SAVED MY CUSTOMERS LOTS OF MONEY INSTEAD OF REBUILDING THE TBI OR THE CARBS.
you may have bad injectors, or not enough fuel pressure
Check the fuel pressure but it's most likely the fuel pump.
Have you tried spraying gas intothe breather. Does it have tbi or multi-port? How about the fuel regulator. How much pressure does the fuel rail have ?
It is bolted in the very top of the TBI housing behind the 2 injectors. The whole top of the housing will have to be replaced if the regulator is bad. It is all made together.
if you do not have spark you will not have fuel check coil module and ignition pick up coil.
check for spark at plugs sounds like a ign problem
The fuel pump relay on 1986 Chevy Elcamino 4.3 TBI is in the Fuel Injection Tank.
yes you can, but you will have to get you computer re-programmed for the new fuel requirments. It is alot easier to replace the TBI with a carb, then there is no computer to mess with. That's what I did. yes you can, but you will have to get you computer re-programmed for the new fuel requirments. tbi is Chevy's abbreviation for Throttle Body Injection. In this type of fuel injection system fuel is squirted into the throttle body above the manifold.
The fuel pressure regulator in that 96 GMC 4.3 TBI is located in the throttle body.
No, the injectors are rated differently, you would be dumping fuel into the engine. The computer and injectors wouldn't match up.
There is no adjustment on a TBI fuel system, The Idle is controlled by the computer You need to check the Idle speed control solenoid. You can find that on the top left rear side of the TBI housing. It screews in, and is about 4 inches long with an electrical connecter pluged into it. Also check for a vacuum leak. If the check engine light is on then you need to scan engine with a engine scanner FIRST.
