actually I just had this problem and believe it or not it was the driveshaft u joints. It could also be your catylac converter. Get under the truck and hit the converter with your hand. If you here some rattling noises your converter is shot. Too check your ujoints just give the driveshaft a good wiggle to see if ujoints are shot
You could try a new alternator and check fan belt tension.
You will have to determine the source then we can tell you why and how to fix it.
Under-inflated tires and duals that touch
Perhaps a vacuum leak?
probably a vacume leak if possible let it run listen close under the hood for a whistling sound and maybe you can find it.
if your truck was out of oil and you ran it it probably threw a rod. it makes a fast ticking sound and it comes from under the valve cover. that is most likely what happened
The noise can be comming from the weather stripping around the door, the wind passing past the antenna or from the wind around the luggage rack on acceleration.
Vermont.
it was rumored that a mew is under the truck
OK, why did you put that as a question?
In Vermont it is illegal to make noises, including whistling, underwater that can disorient or hurt marine life. If whistling noises are played around some marine mammals, including whales or dolphins, it can disorient them and may cause them to become stranded.
I drove under high tension wires in a truck and could clearly hear a buzzing noise. I actually stopped the truck and sat under the wire for a moment to listen to the sound. As I recall it was a very humid day. I don't know if this is true but suspect the damp air had something to do with it.
