Depending on the vehicle and the amount of after market parts this could be caused by; A Supercharger, worn Timing Belt, worn serpentine belt, interference with the Radio or Intake.
What causes a car to screech is when you get too excited to go fast you step on the gas pedal or in other words you floor it! This causes the tires to regain grip on the ground and makes the screech noise.
If it is a turbo, it could be the turbo winding up. I had an Audi with 2.7 T engine that would whistle / whine when accelerating. You could have an air leak in the inlet manifold or plenum.
What causes a car to idle good and run rough when you give it gas?
Unburned gas and escaped (leaked) gas.
