I went to Lincoln Tech Auto school and the Professor in my Automatic Transmissions class told me the best thing to do, to clean out your engine is to put Automatic Transmission fluid in it and run it over the weekend and then change it out with regular motor oil.
It doesn't ... it works with the transmission. It's required because the internal combustion engine works best at a fixed speed ... whereas you want the wheel speed to change frequently.
The 727 torqueflight automatic tranny is the only tranny to hold up to the 440 torque if your talking automatics.
Depends on which engine it has and if it is an automatic or if it is a 4WD. It is not going to get good mileage no matter what engine and transmission it is equipped with. The best you will get it around 16 highway.

I found using the Mobil-One 0w30 synthetic oil to have the best results. It's not cheap but it works for me.

An automatic transmission shift valve is like a swing. It is moves back and forth with the use of pressure. That is how gears are changed.
The best way is on a trailer.
