The rule I was taught. I should be following the car in front by a minimum of 2 seconds. I count this as 1 spagetti 2 Spagetti.

This will seem a large distance, but this is a minimum safe distance for a driver who is paying attention.

Large comercial vehicals should be looking for four seconds.

People texting should add 3 minutes following distance from me, if you rear-end me because you were texting I will shove you phone up whats left of your tail pipe.
