Not with out an adapter.
As long as it is a B.O.P. transmission, yes. It will not bolt up to a Chevy engine without an adapter plate.
yes and no yes in that it can be made to fit no in that a Chevy transmission has a different bolt pattern than Oldsmobile's, Buick's, and Pontiac's. the motor mounts are also probably going to be different. However you can change the motor mounts and there are companies that make adapters to use a Chevy transmission with a Oldsmobile, Buick, or Pontiac engine. I have seen an adapter to use a ford transmission with a Chevy engine.
Pontiac didn't make a 307. If it's an Olds 307, you need an adapter or a BOP transmission.
No, not unless summit racing makes a special adapter plate to do it.
Need to know which engine and which transmission.
That all depends on which engine you have in the 77. If the engine in your 77 is a Pontiac or Olds engine then no, it's not a direct bolt in. You would need an adapter plate and you'd also need to either install a non lock up torque converter or get the stand alone control module. Depending on which trans you are talking about swapping, you may have to change the cross member. The only engine a Chevy transmission will bolt to is another Chevy.....without adapter plates anyway.
Not without an adapter.
There is no need for a adapter plate, The 350 trans. bolt pattern is the same as a 400 trans bolt pattern. All Chevy transmission are interchangeable up to the year 2000
Chevrolet's used a different bolt pattern from other GM's. An adapter would be required.
Answer Chevy engines are totally different from Pontiac engines. you'll need an adapter plate to fit it to a Pontiac transmission, assuming you're using the firebird tranny. check www.jegs.com they have the adapter plates there.OK...I don't see where the Pontiac engine comes into play here. In '86 it's a Chevy engine in that Firebird. As far as I know, the flywheel from the 305 will bolt right up to the 350. Use the 305 flywheel, clutch and pressure plate and possibly the starter. Chevy had two different diameter flywheels/flexplates.
You'll need an adapter to put that trans on that engine. Check with these guys: http://www.advanceadapters.com/
