As of the year 2013 I would say some characteristics of a classic car would be it has a carburetor in it, hens before fuel injection. Another characteristic would be in my opinion having a body made of metal (not fiberglass). In terms of body style which I would say is superficial, but the most appealing aspect of a classic car is the body would not have that bubble/smooth look (e.i. chrome/metal plated grill/fenders, boxy looking, etc) today's cars have.
