Basically the magneto/coil pack is probably defective or the spark plug, pull the flywheel pull chord assembly and possible fuel tank assembly, the part is mounted on top of the engine below the rewind coil area....follow the spark plug wire backwards. Be sure to keep the spark plug disconnected while working on any magneto type engine, maintain the proper gap between the coil and the flywheel, for quick reference to gap use a match book cover.
