A glow plug problem can be spotted by the vehicle having trouble starting the engine. The indicator light in the for a glow plug can indicate a bad disconnected or corroded glow plug, or even a bad temperature sensor. If when you first start the engine there is a misfiring until the engine warms up, it is a good chance a glow plug problem. Usually misfiring will cease after the engine has been running about ten minutes. One of the last systems of a bad glow plug is you see white exhaust when starting the engine. Diesel is let into the combustion chamber to start the engine. A bad or even disconnected glow plug will allow diesel to leak from the chamber into the exhaust. The fuel is then ignited in the exhaust pipe and produces a white smoke. Once the engine again warms up the white smoke will stop.

How do you fix p0671 p0380 codes on a 2006 dodge sprinter?

You have a problem in the glow plug system. You will need to test for a shorted glow plug by making a test harness with a 15 amp fuse in it and applying 12 volts to each glow plug to see which blows the fuse. You will also have to replace the glow plug module/relay which is loacted under the battery shelf under the hood. Be very careful when trying to remove the glow plugs. Only attempt with a fully warm engine ( drive it for 30 minutes first ). Do not try to force them to turn, they will break. You have a problem in the glow plug system. Remove Glow plugs Mercedes vito?

The reason for this problem is the corrosion between the glow plug threads and the cylinder head. A lot of engines have this problem (in fact a risk at most engines, a lot of problem also with injectors and sprak plugs)) An excessive force with a torque wrench may cause the glow plug to break, or lead to damage to the thread. If this happens, the mechanic does not really have any choice but to remove the cylinder head from the engine to extract the glow plug (and high repair bill sure >1000$). There is are solutions on the market for this. Most of them are very expensive tools to pull out the glow plug. There is one new solution named vibropac, see www.vibropac.ca. This product is just on the market in Nort-America, it was designed in Europe for cars having this problem. This tool vibrates the glow plug, ensures the material forces of corrosion and dirt are breaking and are minimized and at the same time, using force to unscrew the plug. Good luck.

Where can i find the glow plug in ford modeo diesel?

The glow plug is the diesel version of a spark plug. There are 4 glow plugs (1 for each cyl.) located usually near the injector on top of the cylinder head.AnswerThe glow plug is NOT the diesel version of a spark plug, they both do different jobs. The glow plug is there to aid starting when the engine is cold. The spark plug is there to provide the spark for combustion to take place in a petrol/gasoline engine.
