Mass transit systems, also known as public transportation, are normally made up of bus routes, and/or subways systems, and/or light rail (also known as streetcars). Some cities have all three of these. By carrying multiple passengers (a subway train can carry a thousand passengers at once, easily) a mass transit system relieves pressure on overcrowded roads. And of course, it is very handy for people who do not want to spend the enormous amounts of money needed to drive their own car, or who cannot afford to do so.
