Hi Don't panic this is normally caused by the failed head gasket seeping coolant on to the head bolts It is very unlikely the block is cracked best wishes
124 ftlb's at 2400rpm, 83bhp at 4450rpm with 0.8Bar boost from standard turbo. Just to clarify, these are the figures for the ISUZU block with "Turbo" in red on the top of the engine.
To replace the tappet gasket on an Opel Astra, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the valve cover by unscrewing the bolts and carefully lifting it off. Clean the mating surfaces, then place the new tappet gasket in position before reattaching the valve cover and tightening the bolts to the specified torque. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for any leaks after starting the engine.
You cannot get a spark after a head gasket was done on Vauxhall Astra 2.2 because the battery discharged.
To replace the rocker cover gasket on a Vauxhall Astra/Opel Astra 1.3 Gi engine, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove any necessary components, such as the air intake or ignition coils, to access the rocker cover. Unscrew the rocker cover bolts, carefully lift off the cover, and remove the old gasket. Clean the surfaces, place the new gasket in position, reassemble the rocker cover, and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
its 80,000 miles on the 1.7cdti (isuzu)engine. It might be 80,000 on the 1.7cdti Fiat engine but the 1.7dti is Isuzu and chain driven - should never need changing!
I keep putting water in my vaxhall astra as it overheats, if it is the head gasket how much will it cost to be repaired.
To change the rocker gasket on a 2004 Astra 1.6 (54 plate), first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the engine cover and any components obstructing access to the rocker cover, such as the ignition coils and wiring harness. Unscrew the rocker cover bolts and gently lift off the cover, taking care not to damage the surfaces. Clean the mating surfaces, place the new gasket in position, and reassemble everything in reverse order, ensuring a proper torque setting on the bolts.
Unless someone has put oil in the water bottle in error, there is an internal failure in the engine. The most common (but not the only) cause is that the head-gasket has failed.
This is a very difficult major repair.
The gearbox oil is separate from the engine oil on a 2002 1.4 Astra, and much thicker.
A complete Astra engine weighs around 350 pounds, or 158 kilograms. An automatic transmission is about 400 lbs or more.
The Saturn Astra does, but that's just a rebadged Opel Astra. The Buick Verano also does, but it, too, is a badge engineered Opel Astra.
