I received a speeding ticket on interstate 95 approx 1/4 mile before exit 33 ....I had a broken fuel gage which was beeping empty. Yes I sped up to fuel. Exit 33...a big fueling station. I was stopped on the ramp "clocked" at 81mph. I have the car presently at the dealership looking to rerpair whatever is necessary. How do I present this as no I am not denying the speed....but.....this is the "circumstance" and throw my self at the understandings and mercy of the court with proper repair bill/analysis of broken fuel gage/ as proof. I also tried explaining this to the officer. He was polite but continued to issue his morning trade. After fueling....coming off ramp 33.....the same sheriff had pulled a hapless motorist to the side near the same spot. I believe this area to be an incredible goldmine for revenue.....is this fair?
very sad citizen who does not seek to break the law. Any suggestions as to how to proceed with this speeding ticket without spinning wheels and time into nothingness.
