Either the throttle cable is bad, broken. newer cars have a throttle body sensor. (TPS). This part could go bad as well.

An icv is an idle control valve. It controls the idle of the car (without the accelerator pedal depressed).

What is the name of the gas pedal?

The gas pedal is commonly referred to as the "accelerator pedal." It is the pedal in a vehicle that controls the amount of fuel delivered to the engine, allowing the driver to increase the vehicle's speed. In most cars, it is located on the right side of the brake pedal.

Why makes a 1983 Chevy S10 Blazer 2.8 V6 stall when the accelerator pedal is depressed?

Your 1983 Chevy S10 Blazer might stall when the accelerator pedal is depressed because of a clogged or dirty fuel filter. Gas that is mixed with water or condensation from the tank can also cause this issue.

What is accelerator in a car?

The accelerator in a car is a pedal that controls the engine's power output, allowing the driver to increase the vehicle's speed. When pressed, it opens the throttle, allowing more air and fuel into the engine, which generates more power. The accelerator is typically located on the right side of the driver's footwell and is used in conjunction with the brake pedal for speed control. Proper use of the accelerator is essential for smooth driving and maintaining control of the vehicle.

Does gas enter the engine when the car is off and you push the gas pedal?

If your engine has a carburetor, a small amount of fuel will be sprayed in to the intake manifold when accelerator is depressed, and engine isn't running. This is fuel stored in the accelerator pump reservoir to prevent hesitation. So if the engine isn't running, it will spray the first time accelerator pedal is pressed and it won't introduce additional fuel no matter how many times you press the gas pedal after the first press. The engine needs to be running for the accelerator pump well to refill. If your asking because you're wondering if pressing the gas pedal will flood the engine making it hard to start, the answer is No, it won't flood the engine. If your engine does not have a carburetor, then it's fuel injected. No fuel at all will enter the engine with the gas pedal pressed, engine not running. The engine has to be cranking (starter engaged to start engine) for the fuel system to operate. 0 chance of fuel if the engine is not cranking or running to activate fuel injection.

What cable goes from the gas pedal to the engine on a 1997 Chrysler Sebring?

Where is accelerator pedal sensor located?

The accelerator pedal sensor is typically located on or near the accelerator pedal assembly within the vehicle's footwell. It is often mounted directly on the pedal mechanism or attached to the pedal assembly, allowing it to detect the position of the pedal as it is pressed or released. In some vehicles, it may also be integrated into the throttle body or linked to the engine control unit (ECU) for electronic throttle control systems.

How do you attach the accelerator pedal assembly to the carburetor in a 1966 Chevy C10 pickup with a 350 engine?

What side is the brake and the accelerator?

The accelerator pedal is to the right of the brake.

How can you increase and decrease speed?

To increase speed, you can press the accelerator pedal to allow more fuel to enter the engine, thereby increasing power output. To decrease speed, you can either release the accelerator and let the vehicle slow down naturally or apply the brakes gradually or more forcefully depending on how quickly you want to slow down.
