The red steering wheel in the instrument cluster means that the steering wheel is not locked into position. There should be a black lever on the left or right side of the steering column. This is the lever to release when you want to adjust the steering wheel up or down. Push the lever back up to lock into place and the indicator should go out. If it is still on when the steering wheel is locked, then that could be a electrical fault with the sensor.
Try mooving the steering wheel back and forth. This should release the car from park.
You make sure the kingpin lock is pulled out from the fifth wheel, then you back up to the trailer - keeping the truck centered with the trailer. Depending on how the trailer was dropped, you may need to deflate the tractor air bags to lower your fifth wheel height. When you back under the trailer, you'll hear the kingpin lock engage. Pull forward, to ensure it's locked in place. Once that's done, you'll reinflate your cab air bags, get out, visually check the fifth wheel and kingpin lock, then you'll hook up your pigtail and air lines.
back in should be self locking just check before you take off but if you don't know how to do this then you shouldn't be driving a truck
If your gear shift is locked into park, but the car stars and won't go into reverse, try unlocking the steering wheel. Turn the wheel back and forth to see if it remedies the problem.
the ignition key will not turn if the steering wheel is locked in place. The steering wheel locks in place when it is turned with the ignition off. If the wheel is locked just try turning the wheel back and forth and turn the key at the same time, this will unlock the wheel, and allow the key to turn
Pull to the first stop for 4 wheel high lock, then push to the right and all the way back for 4 wheel low
they should be 10.
First, you ensure that the kingpin latch is in the unlocked position. Then, you back under the trailer, ensuring that the kingpin is lined up to lock into the fifth wheel. Once you feel that it's locked into place, you pull forward - if you have the trailer properly hooked up, then you won't move forward. You put the truck back in neutral, then you get out and hook up your air lines and pigtail, and remove wheel chocks from the trailer if they're present.
It is a good possiblity the brake hose feeding that wheel is at fault.
The Steering Column locks the wheel in place and when the steering wheel is locked you cannot turn the key... try turning the key with gentle force while turning the steering wheel back and forth.
Wait 24 hours and it should come back.
