There is a small device you keep on your key-ring, that also has 2 small metal posts. In order to start the vehicle you must stick the device on your key-ring into the slot, making contact between the metal posts stops the flashing light, then, and only then with your ignition key start the vehicle. If security light goes on and car doesn't start don't keep trying to start it, wait about 3 minutes for security light to turn off, and clean the contact points on the chip in the key and you should make sure it is not shifting to one side of the key.
