My is Mercedes c220 diesel glow plug light staying on most times I start the car even when up at running temp. Some mornings at the first start it takes a while to start just turning over then why?

It can be your glow plugs need replacment.

you may have a wiring problem or you just need to diagnose your merc and see if any small errors came up. If they do just delete them.
