it really depends on which engine. some engines use chains to drive the camshaft(s), whilst others use belts. Some use belts (for the cam(s)) AND a chain to drive the oil pump
It depends on which engine the car has.
Under normal conditions the timing chain will last the life of the engine. It is normally replaced during a complete engine rebuild.
It is a timing chain, and no, you can replace it in the car.
No. A 302 or 5.0L is a non interference engine...if that it what it has
Assuming a 3800 (3.8L) engine, it has a timing chain which, with a little luck should last the life of the car/engine.
Yes I have the same car.
chain ============================================================================= A 1995 Lincoln Town Car , 4.6L V8 engine has ( 1 timing chain to each cylinder head , so there are 2 timing chains )
It depends on the age of the car, engine size & engine code/type. The smaller ones are generally chain. the bigger ones are generally belt.
Yes, if there is internal leak.
It depends on the year/make/model and the engine in the car, can be a belt or chain.
Noninterference
If your car has the 2.8V6 it has a timing chain. If your car has the 2.54 cylinder engine it has timing gears. Neither has a timing belt or the problems that come with one.
