What is better a 53L engine or a 5.7L engine for reliability and economy?
The 5.3L replaced the 5.7L because automakers have to constantly
improve on fuel economy and reliability. The new 5.3L fall under
GM's 5yr / 1000,000 mile powertrain warranty. The old 5.7L never
achieved this. For economy, the new all aluminum 5.3 Liter is the
winner, hands down. However the reliability of this engine has not
been determined as of yet. The 5.7 however has established a long
history of being a very reliable engine.
