Take the car to a windshield shop. The fix isn't expensive and having it done by someone with the proper tools and experience will help prevent water leaks and possibly even a broken windshield. Cheers

The usual cause is a bad seal around the windshield or body rust under the seal. The windshield needs to come out and bodywork done or the seal replaced.

It just depends on what caused the leak. Was the cause of the leak by a covered peril such as fire, wind, hail etc? If so, then yes it would be covered. If not, then it would not be covered.
