∙ 16y agoNo, but your crankcase should be vented anyway. If your getting coolant in the crankcase it is getting in from a bad head gasket or cracked head or bad intake manifold gaskets. If you don't fix it soon your engine will be toast.

∙ 16y agoThere are several things that can cause diesel fuel to get into your crankcase. A broken piston ring is the most common cause.

It is located on the main bearings in the crankcase NEW ANSWER: The above answer is WRONG. The crank sensor is mounted in the side of the engine block BEHIND the STARTER. You MUST remove the starter to get to it.
I had same problem -- fuel pump went out.
The crankcase on ALL engines is at the bottom of the engine, covering the crankshaft (that's where the name Crank-Case comes from) and holds the oil in the engine.
