Approach the intersection in the left-most lane appropriate for traveling in your direction, and take up the new left-turn direction in the left-most lane appropriate for traveling in the new direction. Avoid letting the back of your vehicle or trailer enter any on-coming lane once you have entered the new street. When two lanes are allowed to turn left, you may choose either lane (large vehicles may have regulations about choosing the lane), but whichever left-turn lane you are in approaching the intersection should be the lane you enter on the new street. If the vehicle you are driving is so long that making the left turn might cause the rear-most wheels to cut into another lane, plan ahead to draw the front of your vehicle further forward before beginning the turn. If there is not enough room in the entersection to draw your vehicle adequately forward, then move more slowly than other traffic about you, and if you are in a right-hand drive country such as the UK, start by moving toward the right edge of your lane or partially blocking a second lane traveling in your direction, so as to draw the rear-most wheels away from the corner but without allowing traffic to slip in between you and the corner, and continue as above.
