The card/package that the thermostat came in should have installation instructions. For lack of instructions, install the pointed (longest) end of the thermostat toward the engine block. I think this will work for you, but be prepared to invert it if the engine starts to overheat. Always keep the packaging of any item you buy that requires assembly or installation as most of the time the instructions will be somewhere on the package. Good luck.

The thermostat is located under the housing at the end of the upper hose that goes from the radiator to the engine. Drain the radiator then remove the hose at the thermostat housing. Unbolt the two bolts that hold down the housing and pull out the thermostat (be sure to notice which end of the thermostat points into the engine. Installation is reverse , making sure that thermostat points in the same direction. Usually, the instructions of how it fits are printed on the package of the thermostat. Good luck.

IMO, it must be for a much older vehicle. I can't think of any vehicle these days that uses a 180 degree F thermostat. They all use a 195 degree F thermostat if the vehicle has OBD.
UPS offers a tracking number for ground shipments that allow you to determine the location of your package from the moment it leaves their store. This is convenient over other shipping companies like USPS because you can better determine where you package is at and if it is on time for its expected delivery date.
