Most states require a commercial driver to be at least 18 years old. However, you will not be able to leave your home state in a commercial truck (this is called intrastate driving).

To drive outside of your home state (interstate driving) you must be at least 21 years old. Therefore, most trucking companies will not hire a driver who is under the age of 21.
