The 1950 Ford cars did not have many safety features, like we do today, in place. The cars and trucks did have safety belts.

1960 cars are better. ANSWER cars made in the 60's usually have more horsepower due to the increasing number of muscle cars. Also advances in technology helped in making cars in the 60's better.

Around 30 million cars were on the road in the US by 1950. By 1929, 26 million cars were in use. That number was little changed by 1940 because of the Great Depression. After World War 2, in 1946, there were 25.8 million.
