It depends on driving conditions and how well you take care of your car. Many people will recommend you change your oil every 3000 miles regardless of it's quality or driving conditions. Especially those who are charging you for the oil change.
This is simply not necessary with synthetic oils, however, which are designed to handle much more extreme conditions for much longer periods of time. Even under the most extreme conditions (i.e. Many short trips, stop and go city driving, and hot conditions with the AC on) Synthetic oil can very safely last 7500 miles. Under more normal driving conditions, it may last around 12000 miles.
Around 5,000 miles with conventional oil and 7,500 with synthetic.
Follow the manufacture of your vehicles recommendations. Or change the oil/filter every 7,500 miles.
That's easy synthetic oil. Ill tell you why it sounds better
Oil last forever but oil does get dirty. Synthetic oil like conventional oil does get dirty. You can extend your oil changes slightly if you synthetic oil but no more than two or 3000 miles.
5W30 ....and synthetic or conventional is fine, synthetic is higher cost but lasts much longer between changes so the long term cost about evens out
synthetic motor oil doesn't break down nearly as fast as conventional oil it also can have greater lubrication and anti rust protection.
if you drive normally, mostly highway, and not in dusty conditions then I would recommend you change it every 7,000 miles. If you drive mostly city then every 5,000 miles. I do not recommend you use a synthetic blend. Either use conventional oil or 100% synthetic. With 100% synthetic you can go 8,000 miles.
Oil changes are always necessary. If you mean can you mix conventional oil and synthetic, the answer is yes you can.
The recommended oil type for a 2009 Nissan Murano is synthetic 5w-30 motor oil. The use of synthetic oil allows for longer periods between oil changes and smoother operation.
Yes...Some synthetic motor oils recommend 15,000 miles between oil changes. However they also recommend changing the oil filter at 7500 miles then adding more synthetic oil to replace the oil lost from changing the filter. In summary...drive 7500 miles change filter, add oil, then drive another 7500 miles. Read the recommendation on the oil bottle.
I have always used it on my BMW and have never had a problem.
About 4500 miles for car/truck over 150k
